Cisgender people identify with (or are on the same side of) the gender assigned to them at birth. So when we mention a cisgender man, the focus is on an individual who was assigned male at birth, and whose internal sense of his gender has been the same as that identification: male. similarly, a cisgender woman is an individual who was assigned female at birth, and also identifies as female. Use this term instead of “non-transgender”, “I’m not transgender, not that there’s anything wrong with that.
